Whether for our funds or our institutional investment mandates, DECALIA has chosen to focus on four promising investment themes:
- Market inefficiencies
- Quest for yield
- New consumer trends
- Disintermediation in the European banking sector
This expertise is available either through DECALIA’s investment funds or by way of segregated investment mandates.
Market inefficiencies in Europe open up many investment opportunities for active managers in the equity and credit markets.
DECALIA aims to benefit from these inefficiencies through a high-conviction and benchmark-agnostic equity portfolio, with an opportunistic approach and no geographical or market cap constraints.
A “Long/Short Equity” strategy, that aims to deliver absolute returns through long and short positions in equities worldwide (with a neutral point at 130/30), is also available.
This strategy of investing in secular trends and global brands is applied in the DECALIA Muse fund.
Quest for yield
DECALIA’s multi-asset strategies aim to deliver absolute return by combining different asset classes, such as debt securities, equities and other funds.
Benchmark-agnostic, the investment style is opportunistic, flexible and pragmatic.
These multi-asset strategies are accessible through two different funds: DECALIA Active Allocation, focused more on capital growth, and DECALIA Conservative, which has a lower risk profile.
New consumer trends
DECALIA has developed three original strategies that address the major changes in consumer trends being witnessed today: the coming of age of the “Millennial” generation, the inevitable transition to a “circular economy” and ageing demographics.
Comprising some two billion people, the “Millennial” generation (also called “Generation Y”) represents an enormous market which, because of a new value system and different consumption habits, poses a major challenge to traditional economic actors. But it is also a unique opportunity for those companies that know how to address its aspirations.
DECALIA’s “Circular Economy” strategy, the world’s first equity fund dedicated to this new paradigm, invests in companies that stand to structurally benefit from this change in paradigm. The circular economy looks at all the options along the value chain: circular supplies, resource recovery, product life extension, sharing platforms, product as a service.
As for DECALIA’s “Silver Generation” strategy, it invests in European mid- to large-cap companies that benefit from the long-term trend of demographic ageing. Investments focus on the following themes: Health & Wellness, Leisure & Pleasure, Security, Financial services. Sector allocation is based on an assessment of the relative growth prospects of the identified themes.
These three strategies are implemented in the DECALIA Millennials, DECALIA Circular Economy and DECALIA Silver Generation funds.

Disintermediation in the European banking sector
In order to invest in the trend towards disintermediation of the banking sector in Europe, DECALIA has cooperated with several partners. These are specialised in corporate lending, private debt or in non-bank real estate debt solutions.
These strategies are developed through a series of illiquid products.
In 2019, DECALIA launched a credit strategy fund managed in-house by a team specialised in this field: DECALIA Private Credit Strategies.
